2. 93 Days

93 Days featured in our movies to watch on Prime Video last week and there is a reason it is appearing on this list today again. If you have not watched 93 Days, you can watch it on Tubi TV. Steve Gukas‘s 93 Days is a blockbuster Nollywood movie that portrays the Nigeria’s excellence. This is one of my favorite Nollywood Movies of all time.

This Nigerian movie looks back at with pride at how Nigeria prevented the outbreak of the Ebola disease. The film documents the triumph against Ebola and salutes the heroes of that battle. The movie is not great because of what it stands for, but how well it told that story. It was beautifully shot and well-acted with lead Bimbo Akintola delivering an excellent performance.

3. Hakkunde

If you have not watched Hakkunde, this is an opportunity for you to watch it free. Hakkunde is a story of a young graduate who battles everything on his journey to self discovery and actualization.   This Nollywood movie is characterized by actions and reactions that defines the everyday Nigerian society, with its ups and downs.

In this Nollywood movie, you will see the life of a job hunting graduate “Akande” who found himself in totality while searching for a job, and a better life. It highlights the merits of steadfastness, humility and self-denial and also espouses the gains of harnessing opportunities.

4. Silver Rain

Silver Rain is a Pan African film, casting from 5 African countries: South Africa, Kenya,  Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.  Set in an African slum, an ambitious market girl meets and falls in love with a boy from the other side of town.  Silver Rain is a story of love, pain and the strength of the human spirit. In this gripping love story, Ajoa, a ‘Kayayo’ street girl from Accra, meets Bruce, the rich heir of the Timothy fortunes. Their friendship sets into motion a class war, as Ajoa struggles to cross the class divide and find love, Bruce struggles to find himself. 5. Mother of George

Mother of George is a movie about Adenike and Ayodele, a Nigerian couple living in Brooklyn. Following the joyous celebration of the their wedding, complications arise out of their inability to conceive a child. This problem devastates their family and defies cultural expectations, leading Adenike to make a shocking decision that could either save her family or destroy it. Acclaimed director Andrew Dosumnu captures the nuances of this unique and fascinating culture by creating a beautiful, vibrant, and moving portrait of a couple whose joys and struggles are at once intimate and universal.
