The story begins when University of Minnesota head coach Herb Brooks meets with the US Olympic Committee to discuss strategies for winning the 1980 Olympics. Brooks pitches the group on picking amateur players as opposed to pro-level athletes, leading to doubts that the American team will make it far in their quest for gold medals in any way. Mirror Mirror is a whimsical retelling of the classic fairy tail – The Fall, Immortals. The movie follows Snow White who is an orphan and the rightful ruler of her kingdom. However, a jealous, evil queen schemes to gain control. When a charming prince spurns the queen in favor of Snow White, the evil queen throws the princess into the woods to be devoured by a fearsome beast. When a band of diminutive highway robbers rescues Snow White, she vows to take back her realm from the treacherous queen.
4. Coin Heist
Based on the young-adult novel of the same name, Coin Heist is a Netflix original crime-drama that tells a coming-of-age story backed by a heist. The four students hatch a plan to save their high school by breaking into a mint. Their plain is to create a limited run of coins they will sell to collectors in order to create the necessary $10 million needed for the school. The movie takes a look into the world of four teens who will do anything to save the student body.
5 Candy Jar
Candy Jar follows two highly-competitive prep-school teenagers, Lona and Bennett, who have been spurred on by their mothers for years to consider each other rivals in academia. When they both become co-captains of their high school debate team, they find themselves unable to work with each other. As a result both face the consequences of possibly losing a debate and sacrificing their college hopes. The two are forced to work together and will have to reckon with a life they may not have asked for in the first place. In addition, they will have to learn to grow before eventually heading off to an Ivy League school.
6 The Christmas Chronicles
Although it is not yet Christmas season, this is a good movie you can watch now with your children. The Christmas Chronicles follows two siblings on Christmas Eve. When their single mother leaves them home alone for the night, the two siblings hatch a scheme to capture Santa Claus to prove his existence using a camera. When they manage to capture footage of his sleigh, the two try to land in his sleigh, only to meet the man himself. You should definitely check this one out this weekend.
7. The Addams Family
The Addams Family is an adaptation of the classic cartoon and 1960s television show. In this movie, Gomez has a loving family but finds himself missing his estranged brother. When a man who claims to be Fester arrives to the Addams house, the family think their uncle has come home after more than two decades. However, the “Fester” can’t recall major moments of Uncle Fester’s life. Then, Mortica begins to believe that an impostor has invaded their life. Fester gets the Addams clan evicted from their house. After this incidence, Gomez and Morticia realize that a plot to steal the Addams fortune has been enacted, and its up to the whole family to stop them.
