5 Movies To Watch On Netflix This Weekend

The Irishman Movie

As you probably know, Friday is our movie recommendation day. If you missed the previous articles on our movie recommendation, you can read them here. In the past, we have recommended family movies, black movies and even top Nollywood movies on Netflix. Today, we will be sharing 5 movies to watch on Netflix this weekend.

Da 5 Bloods

This is about four African-American Vietnam vets who return to their country in search of a fallen comrade’s body — and a stash of gold. In this Spike Lee move, Four African American vets battle the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen squad leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide. You will find out about an adventure but much more about a series of political statements. In addition, you will see America’s casual abuse of its Black citizens, and the importance of unity in the face of oppression and opportunity alike.

Uncut Gems

With his debts mounting and angry collectors closing in, a fast-talking New York City jeweler risks everything in hopes of staying afloat and alive. The movie follows Ratner as he attempts to retrieve an expensive gem he purchased in a bid to pay off the many debts he owes. You will also see how the Safdie brothers bring in everyone from Kevin Garnett to Idina Menzel as Ratner runs all over New York in pursuit of the gem. The dazzle of the “uncut gems” in the title is not a surface shine. It glows at the center of the earth, it burns in Howard’s core. See the trailer below.

Meddlesome Beverly Hills high school student Cher gets more than she bargained for when she gives a fashion-challenged student a makeover. The classic comedy co-stars Paul Rudd in an early role, Alicia Silverstone and the late Brittany Murphy. Her attempt at making Tai over strains her relationships with her friends. In addition, it affected her relationship with her handsome former stepbrother, Josh.

The Wrong Missy

The Wrong Missy is a 2020 American romantic comedy film directed by Tyler Spindel, with a screenplay by Chris Pappas and Kevin Barnett. It stars David Spade and Lauren Lapkus. In this movie, Tim thinks he’s invited the woman of his dreams on a work retreat to Hawaii. He later realized too late he mistakenly texted someone from a nightmare blind date. By the time he realizes the mix-up, it’s too late. But as the Missy tears her way through one mortifying, unsettling interaction after another, Tim begins to actually like her. Number 5 on our movies to watch on Netflix this weekend is the Irishman. In the 1950s, truck driver Frank Sheeran gets involved with Russell Bufalino and his Pennsylvania crime family. As Sheeran climbs the ranks to become a top hit man, he also goes to work for Jimmy Hoffa. Jimmy is a powerful Teamster tied to organized crime. In this movie, Frank Sheeran looks back at the secrets he kept as a loyal member of the Bufalino crime family. If you are not sure of the movie to watch, you should check this out.
