What is the intent of this process?
CRA is currently seeking talented candidates to fill various AU-01 positions across Canada in several program areas. Potential positions available via this process include:
- Income Tax Auditor,
- Excise Tax Auditor,
- GST/HST Auditor,
- International Tax Auditor,
- Financial Reviewer,
- Valuator Trainee and
- Business Intelligence Quality Assurance Officer.
Essential staffing requirement
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirement.
Education
The CRA’s minimum education standard for AU.
Note: By the closing date and time of this poster, you must upload your education credentials (including school transcripts showing that you have completed the accounting courses, the course code and grade obtained) in the Education section of your Candidate Profile and submit all required documents at the moment you submit your application. All proof of education must be clear and legible. Proof must indicate that your diploma or degree was conferred, along with your name, institution and level of education (diploma, degree, masters or PhD). Failure to do so can result in your application not being considered further. We will not accept editable documents. The CRA will accept foreign credentials as long as a recognized Canadian educational institution accept them. Candidates with foreign education credentials will need to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate. Candidates with foreign designations must have their designation confirmed by the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Canada). Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate.
Experience
You don’t need any specific experience in order to apply to this process. However, managers may request specific experience as an asset requirement. At the appointment stage, preference may be given to qualified candidates with experience.
How to apply
If you are living in Canada and / or Canadian citizens living abroad, you can apply. However, preference for appointment will be given to eligible veterans and Canadian Forces members, Canadian citizens and permanent residents, in that order.
If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any expenses related to your participation in this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if you receive an offer of employment from this process. Candidates will have the opportunity to indicate their preferred location(s) of work during the process.
Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.
Assessment
Assessments may occur at any time after you submit your applications. You need to check your Candidate Profile periodically to review correspondence related to this process, including the time prior to the closing date of the job poster.
Essential requirements
CRA will assess the essential staffing requirements below during the process and may use it to identify candidates for positions.
- Behavioural Cognitive Skills, Cognitive Abilities, Traits, and Drivers;
- Performance Validation;
- Second Language Evaluation (required only for bilingual positions).
Please note that the assessment stage of this staffing process will be conducted in conjunction with staffing processes to come AU-02 (requisition 56451834) and AU-03 (requisition 56451859). If you apply on these processes, you will be assessed only once on common elements.
CRA may conduct testing sessions periodically and may be during the day, in the evening and/or on weekends. Candidates are expected to make themselves available for assessment when scheduled. Failure to attend your scheduled assessment may result in the rejection of your application. CRA may reschedule assessments for exceptional circumstances and may request supporting documentation. The Staffing Board will make these decisions on a case by case basis.
Asset staffing requirements
CRA may identify additional asset staffing requirements, and use them as part of this staffing process. They will communicate any additional asset requirements to candidates before they can use them.
CRA may limit the number of candidates under consideration further in this staffing process by using a top-down approach to select candidates with the best results achieved on assessments conducted within this process.
Assessment results could be transferrable to other internal staffing processes at the CRA.
